India and Malaysia ciber-security agreement

The governments of India and Malaysia recently signed a series of agreements in the field of cybersecurity, ‘The Indian Express’ reports.

According to the November 23 report, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Malaysian counterpart Perdana Menteri signed key agreements on cybersecurity, culture and public administration after talks between delegations from both countries.

The cybersecurity agreements was signed by the Indian Computer Emergency Team (a governmental organization) and the Malaysian Cyber Security Agency, according to a report in ‘Tech 2’. The agreement would promote closer cooperation and exchange of information in the field between the two countries.

An official statement presented in `Digital News Asia’ said that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two governments would facilitate mutual exchange of technologies, human resources and policies in the cybersecurity field. In addition, both governments will share information regarding cyber attacks and shape policies of countering and responding to these threats.
