Deploying a new computer system for police stations in Morocco

On January 5th it was posted that National Security Authority Director of Morocco launched the second phase of a new information system known as GESTARR, which would computerize the police departments and the various stations around the country, partly in order to facilitate cooperation between them.

The computer system will affect police operations, including arrests and legal and administrative activities. Among other things, to facilitate access to administrative documents to citizens and tracking complaints and also to allow police cooperation in the fight against crime, including by collecting statistics on the frequency of crimes and the places where these are performed.

It was reported that after a successful trial period in Tangier and Rabat, the system will become available to all police departments in the country.
