Oxford University preparing to tackle Cybercrime
On December 14, the University of Oxford’ reported that they had signed a landmark agreement with the Victorian Government in Australia establishing their first international office in Melbourne.
The Oxford Global Cyber Security Capacity Center’s attempt to build a regional center for tackling cyber crime by setting up 17,000 km away was reported recently on ‘The Australian’. The new center name will be ‘The Oceania Cyber Security Center’.
The center will bring together eight Victorian universities, the Melbourne-Based Defense Science Institution, and major private sector partners. Reponsding to the agreement, Professor Sadie Creese, Director of The Global Cyber Security Capacity Center, commented that the aim is to work towards being used internationally as a common framework for effective Cybersecurity.
