The third annual competition for students in the field of cyber security in UAE schools

On April 20, it was reported that the National Electronic Security Authority (NESA) in the UAE will host the third annual competition in the field of cyber security for students aged 12-18, which will be held during the 1st – 3rd of May.

The competition was created in order to encourage the students to take part both in cyber security and computer science, as well as raising awareness of cyber security threats and to identify local talents in technology and also for the development of leaders for the knowledge economy.

A preliminary stage was conducted during the first semester of the academic year, 512 students were trained in the relevant topics, and the most prominent of them were selected to take part in online challenges in different stages and difficulty levels. 60 honors passed on to the third stage, which will last two days during the last week of April, during which they will receive the training required so that they can participate in the competition finals.

This is all alongside improving and expanding education and training given this year by NESA to the students through more than 12 practical training activities regardless of the main competition. These have been carefully designed with reference to the extensive developments in global cyber security industry.

The agenda of the competition will consist of various training activities related to combat cyber attacks against vehicles, counterfeit detection devices, mathematics, cryptography, forensics, programming, wireless communication and social engineering.

The second and third days of the competition will held three competitions for visitor students, in order to offer the young guests the opportunity to experience 30-minute challenges found in the competition itself, in order to encourage them to take part in this event next year.
